   About Us

We began in 1995 by creating applications in Microsoft Access 1.0 for Windows 3.1. We have since developed applications in all versions of Microsoft Access and Windows, to suit customers' existing software. Databases have been written to integrate other Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as software produced by other vendors eg, AutoCad, Sage, Lotus. We also produce systems for use over the internet that use MySQL and Microsoft SQLServer as the data store and use Access as the front-end.

We can be involved at any stage of a project, from making minor changes to an existing application, through to developing a completely new system from the beginning.

Our prime aim is to produce reliable, flexible, user friendly software which our customers are more than satisfied with. The fact that after creating initial applications, ALL of our customers have asked us to create additional applications for them indicates the level of customer satisfaction.

Most of our customers have been with us for many years (some from the very beginning). That isn't because they feel tied to us. They own the 'source code' to any applications developed for them and are free to use anyone for development work. But they know that our personal attention to customer service will ensure they receive reliable software, on time and to budget.

   Background

Jane Cross (Director)

Jane wrote her first database program in 1985 using a BBC micro for 'O' level Computer Studies. She carried on her passion for programming through 'A' levels in Maths, Physics, Economics and Law. She gained a BSc(Hons) in Physics from the University of Surrey. After graduating she worked for Dowty Magnetics as a research physicist writing software algorithms to reduce the magnetic fields of ships and submarines. She then went on to work for Crabtree Electrical Industries, blowing up circuit breakers and various other switches and sockets, to develop and improve new and existing products. It was here that she created her first database using the first version of Microsoft Access, to store her research data. Very soon she was developing database systems for the whole company. In 1995 she started Cross Products Software.
